I have been to Brunei on the way to Australia and went kayaking there.

The web 2.0 sites are now slowly stopping the use of flash (adobe's video playing device) and are now useing HTML - 5 video instead as flash is more battery consuming (according to Apple (Inc)).

Now job interview involve checking the interviewee's face book profile as part of the regulations.

Web 2.0 is just a step towards a smarter web. There are many ideas about web 3.0 one of them is the internet generating data and ideas not humans inputting it onto the web but the computer actually thinking about the questions of life and the unanswerable questions and even invent its own theories.

Which elements of web 2.0 can be useful to me as a student

Web 2.0 Student relevant programs.

The programs that would be relevant to me would be wikis and blogs as they extend the classroom and allow me to save paper and put my work online.

Edmodo would also be useful as it is a social site which is used for homework quizzes.

The Disadvantages:
  • The disadvantage would be that you might have all your personal information online and someone might steal your identity.
  • You might get cyber bullied online and people might find out where you live.
  • You might get hacked by professional hackers and lose money or debit cards.

Advantages of Web 2.0

There are many advantages of web 2.0 as it is used widely by many people across the world.

Advantages are:
  • It can be used for communication with people who are not in the country or have moved away.
  • Projects can be created with the help of many people who are not able to physically work.
  • If you were sick on a working day then you will need to know what happened. So you can have a site ( like the grade 8 wiki ) which displays all the work that you have missed.

How did Web 2.0 develop in today's society.



Web 2.0 developed in our society as when the internet got more advanced the amount of people on the internet increased and developers realized that they could create websites that would interact between computers.

Web 2.0 became more and more popular as the technologies advanced from msn with its chatting program to Twitter with its global hashtags and such. These advances made web 2.0 grow even more.

Web 2.0 sites are where people can interact and/or create things online. They can make what is known as user generated content which is anything made by a user. These sights include:

Facebook - people can interact together online with their friends or family living abroad.

Wikis/Blogs - People can work together to create websites about anything they want.

Youtube - People can post videos that they created to show the rest of the world. People can also comment on other peoples' videos and suggest feedback perhaps.
